Written by Aaron's Mom and siblings:
To all who have loved Aaron throughout his life, we want to let you know that he passed away yesterday, December 18, 2018 in the hospital, surrounded by his family.
Sunday night, Aaron took a turn for the worse and was taken to the hospital. We were hopeful that he could regain his strength and come home, but it wasn't to be. Yesterday he interacted lovingly with friends, church leaders, siblings, his Sweet Lorraine, and his children. In true Aaron fashion, and with great effort, he spoke to each person, looking in their eyes, calling them by name or nickname, expressing his love and gratitude in a personal manner to each one. We wish that all of you who love him could have been there with us yesterday to witness his finest hour. He was the Aaron Thatcher we all love to the last moment, and there was an incredible outpouring from his wonderful soul. Each felt personally loved and remembered by him. In his suffering, he tutored us all one last time.
When a loved one asked Aaron who he would look forward to seeing the most beyond the veil, his response, of course, was "Lorraine."
We know we will see Aaron again. His love will draw all of us to him. Death was long since bridged, we just have to wait our turn. He loved us while he and we all lived and he loves us still. That type of love doesn't die, but is always fresh. We will feel it even while we linger here without him. What is time to the Lord, or death? What is separation? We worship the God of Life and Love. Our God has the power to wipe away all tears. We worship Him who unites and comforts and seals.
There will be a viewing at 1955 S. 350 E. in Kaysville, UT Friday night Dec. 21st from 6:00-8:00 pm, and Saturday, 9:30-10:30, with the funeral to follow at 11:00.
We thank all of you who have prayed for Aaron, and would ask you to continue to pray on behalf of Lorraine, Kaitlin, Madelyn, David, Brigham, Ella, and Lily.

What a beautiful tribute to an amazing person. Aaron will be missed so much by so many people. We will continue our prayers for the mighty Thatcher family.
ReplyDeleteThat caring and loving description is exactly the way that I remember Aaron… It was always about you, not him.
ReplyDeleteI love our Heavenly Father’s plan that gives us the assurance of forever families. That assurance tempers the sadness, and helps us look forward to that joyful reunion.
We pray for blessings of peace for you.
What a great man! This world has lost something very special in Aaron, but I know he won't be far away. You will all certainly be in our thoughts and prayers. Thank you for sharing such a special moment with us.
ReplyDeleteGoodbye to a bright light, bright to the end. He's still here, but it's so terribly hard for those left behind to not be able to see him and hear him, especially his young children. Love and prayers for all of them. It's okay to be very sad, Jesus and eternity notwithstanding.
ReplyDeleteAlison,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tribute to an incredible man and an amazing family. We love Aaron and we love the Thatchers. Aaron's model of what it means to live an exemplary life will be a guiding principle for the remainder of mine.
May God bless Aaron and the Thatchers.
Aaron was a great human. I am sorry for your loss. I roomed with Aaron while we played in the Twins organization together. Loved him. Jeff
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing tender thoughts about one of the most kind human beings ever to live. Maybe we will all try to be more kind because we knew him. Aunt Jill
