We walked out of the hospital yesterday with the digital
images and diagnostic imaging reports from Aaron’s scans. Keep in mind what you
are about to read is our own interpretation of the reports. We are not telling
you what the doctor says, that will come on Thursday, but from what we read and
can tell Aaron’s brain tumors are GONE. “…complete
resolution of previously innumerable small enhancing intra-axial lesions of
metastatic disease, with resolution of associated signal abnormality. No new
lesions have developed in the interim.” Doesn't that sound like those brain mets are gone?
Good news on the rest of the body too. The cancer has shrunk
in those areas as well. And it appears the pain in Aaron's ribs is due to fractures. We have been worried it was caused by cancer in the bone in his rib cage. The fractures are probably due to the cancer having been there, but cancer doesn't appear to be there now. This all means the treatment is working at this time. We’d
love to find a treatment that Aaron could do along with the Tarceva that would
show this cancer no mercy. Hit it from all angles and strike it out instead of
just waiting until the current medication stops working. I know doctors say
this cancer is not curable, but that is our goal, and with the Lord all things
are possible.
We are thankful for this miraculous news. Thankful that it
comes right before a busy two week hospital stay for some of our children.
Thankful we can put off whole brain radiation (doesn’t that sound like
something from Frankenstein?). Thankful, so very thankful, for your faith and
prayers. Thankful to the Lord for this miracle.
“…all things have
been done in the wisdom of him who knoweth all things.”
