Back when I was eight years old I got obsessed with collecting baseball cards. I would always beg my parents to let me buy them. One day my mom told me that Aaron was an amazing baseball player, and that he had a baseball card. I couldn’t believe it! The next time I saw Aaron I asked him he had a spare baseball card of himself. Sure enough, I got his card in the mail. And he sent three more new packs of baseball cards as well. I spent hours admiring all the cards and organizing them in tons of different ways. I still have the cards in my room, and would never trade them.
Aaron is the nicest guy ever. He never thinks about himself, he always thinks about other people. Also, I never see him without a smile. He is always happy, and excited to hear everything about you. Aaron is the best!
This note from Aaron is awesome. Thanks for sharing this story, Eric.
ReplyDeleteI remember getting one of those cards and showing the ERA to my friend, Griff, who had been a little league pitcher when he lived in Florida. Griff was convinced it must be a typo.
Eric,
ReplyDeleteThis is a great entry. I love the story, the card and the note. We all have memories of Uncle Aaron that are special. How does such a big man spread himself so thin?
Love you,
Grandma
