Our family has had the privilege of being neighbors and ward members with the Thatcher family for about 9 years. Being somewhat of an introvert, I have watched their family from a distance over the years and have been so impressed with the caliber of people they are. I can honestly say that I have never met people that exemplify strength, humility, faith, and Christ-like kindness to the extent that Lorraine and Aaron do. I have even at times caught myself thinking, "Could they be for real?!" I think this simply because they are just so good, I wonder if they have any flaws! They always have a kind word or thoughtful observation to say whenever I see them at church, and have touched my heart many times with their words. When I came over to their house right after Aaron's diagnosis, before I could say anything, Lorraine asked how my son was doing. She was thinking of me when she had so much more to worry about! They are both so incredibly sincere in their desire to live the gospel fully and to treat people as Christ would and are such amazing examples to our family. Even in the trials they have, they remain optimistic, and completely full of faith. There really are not words to express the amount of respect and admiration I have for them. I want them to know that when I think of people that I want to pattern my life after, I think of them. I feel privileged to know them. If anyone deserves a miracle, it is them and this is what my husband I pray for. We love you Aaron and Lorraine!
