One year when Aaron was playing minor league baseball for the Twins, he and Grandpa Johnson made the trip from Utah to Florida for Spring Training in an old car that Aaron owned. On their way they stopped by our house in Snellville, GA for a visit. The car had a few problems. One of which was that it took about as much oil to keep it running as it did gas. During their visit, Grandpa pulled me aside and confided, "Aaron is going to drive me crazy! His car burns so much oil and he won't ever stop and check the oil level. He is going to burn up the engine and we'll never make it to Florida!" A short time later, Aaron pulled me aside and said, "Grandpa is going to drive me crazy! Every 5 minutes he tells me that I need to check the fluid levels. If I hear that one more time, I am going to lose my mind!" Overall, we had a great visit with them. They left our home and made it safely to Florida. For years after, I would relive this story with Grandpa. He would laugh like only he could laugh and then proudly tell me that Big A learned from the experience and now takes excellent care of his vehicles.
Aaron and Lorraine, we love you and pray for you everyday! And remember, don't forget to check those fluid levels!
Love,
Uncle Scott
