Boston oncologist (Dr. Oxnard) did do a blood biopsy while we were there. The results were good. The level of EGFR mutation is very low. This means Aaron's cancer is "quiet." It means we have some time to do a needle biopsy and figure out the next best treatment. Oxnard commented on the fact that what we see on the scans as cancer progression doesn't look like the progression we have seen in the past. He said it's possible this isn't progression. It probably is, but there is some question. That is why we need a biopsy ASAP. If a particular mutation shows up on the biopsy, Aaron will be eligible for a drug trial that combines a chemo with his current Tagrisso treatment. He will have to go to UCDavis to get it, but we will cross that bridge when it comes.

It may not be on the mountain height
To paths that I do not know,...like cancer and cystic fibrosis...with my hand in thine...I can't do this alone...I'll go where you want me to go...I'll be what you want me to be....I will give you my heart without condition, without hesitation, fully and completely. Personally, this is all a process and I am grateful for this time of tutoring with our Savior. Many days I feel I am signed up for a course I am incapable of passing; way above my skill level and intelligence, but I know in Whom I trust and that makes all the difference.
We love you all and our hearts take courage and find comfort each time you tell us we are in your prayers.
Thanks for the update. Our prayers for Aaron and the family haven't ceased at the Stauffer home. Your faith is contagious & inspiring!
